Mobile Application Assessment

Smartphones such as Blackberry and IPhone, and other phones based on the Android, Java, Symbian, and Windows 7 Mobile have flooded the mobile applications market. These phones are being used today as portable computing devices. Different applications on these platforms allow users to not only access their corporate intranet but also browse the web using the browser and applications intended for one purpose alone.
When the Wired magazine claimed, the “web is dead” about the smartphone applications, it surmised that upheaval of such mobile apps would change the manner in which the information on the Internet would be accessed. With security not being a design principle in these applications, there’s a high likelihood that some of these applications might be rife with security holes.
