Data Discovery

The PCI DSS Version 2.0 requires the organizations storing, processing or transmitting credit card data to perform due diligence of discovering credit card data on their systems. Bright Axis provides data discovery solutions customers using automated tools and scripts. We support operating systems such as Windows and UNIX to perform an exhaustive search of the file system at a reasonable cost. At the end of the discovery process, all locations of discovered credit card data are disclosed to the customer. This helps customers in knowing more about the storage of credit card data that they may or may not be aware of. Also, this process helps in the customer’s PCI Compliance.
Bright Axis will need number of systems, the Operating systems and size of the hard disk drives before creating an estimate for the effort and the cost required for the effort. Generally, this process is performed over a weekend (off-hours) because this involves exhaustive file system search using scripts and automated tools.
